Rapidshor and Airodek used on Adelaide Airport Carpark
Newgen Formwork Pty Ltd has was sub-contracted by WATPAC to erect the concrete frame building comprising of four floors at approximately 1,2500m2 per floor – 50000m2 in total. In turn Newgen Formwork has utilized the design and supply services of RMD Australia to layout the falsework systems throughout all floors.
Given the nature of the structure with a first floor height of 6.2m floor to floor and the remaining three levels at 2.75m floor to floor the structure suited itself perfectly to the range of shoring systems available in RMD Australia’s vast and innovative product range.
The Rapidshor shoring system topped out with RMD Airodek Deck Beams and Panels was used for the first floor
The first floor at 6.2m high suited the use of the high-strength Rapidshor shoring system topped out with RMD Airodek Deck Beams and Panels. In addition Rapidshor Captive Decking being used within the shoring enabled the customer to erect Rapidshor to both beam and slab areas without having to provide handrails to the beam, proving to be quick, effective and ultimately safe.
Levels 2 to 4 are being constructed using props and Airodek Panels, once again proving to be extremely quick, safe and effective.
1,100t of shoring and around 9,000 Airodek Panels of various sizes were used
At its peak the project involved approximately 1,100t of shoring and around 9,000 Airodek Panels of various sizes with corresponding props to suit. This quantity of equipment involved the shipment of approximately 100 containers from RMD’s worldwide network.
RMD Australia’s unique, safe and quick to assemble shoring systems have paved the way for the successful construction of the new Adelaide Airport Car Park.
